A short, text only status query for sysops...

John Stanley 13 år siden opdateret af Winlink Moderator 13 år siden 5
the http://www.winlink.org/dotnet/maps/PacketPositions.asp link is very useful for finding a station somewhere, but is very slow to load and has a lot of graphics.

could you make a link that returns just a short text status report ("last heard" maybe) so sysops can automate status checking on the systems they run? I'd like to be able to set up something that sends me an email saying "your station isn't talking to the CMS" when there is a failure.

No tables, no graphs, just a simple text report.

Thanks.

Clicking on an RMSHF station online does not show the frequency nor the supported protocols.

Sander Pool 13 år siden opdateret af Winlink Moderator 13 år siden 0

Clicking on an RMSHF station online does not show the frequency nor the supported protocols. There is also no url to the station details. Seems like it would be nice to have this linked together. Location of a station is an important consideration for picking one, right? Thanks for considering. Sander W1SOP.

Clicking on the station callsign on the RMS HF Status page does indeed show the location (grid and additional address information as provided by the sysop) and all traffic (and protocols used) for the past two months. If visual assistance in finding the station is needed the RMS HF Map page is available.

Noise Blanker operation in WINMOR

-8436 12 år siden opdateret 12 år siden 0

I have been using WINMOR for several years but I only recently implemented rig control with it.  I am using a a TS-2000 and the current version 1.1.5.0.

My problem is that everytime the computer tells my rig to change frequency it also turns off the noise blanker.  I know that conventional wisdom is to turn OFF the noise blanker but in my case doing so often causes the signal to get buried under my power line noise.  Having the noise blanker on allows RMSX, etc. to copy the other station where with it off, there is no copy!

Is there some way that turning the noise blanker on or off can be made the operators choice and not the program's choice?  As it is now I have to keep reaching over to the rig and turn the noise blanker on so I can copy the WINMOR RMS stations.

Thank you.

Coordinate mapping bug from DMS to Decimal

Tony DeCicco 12 år siden opdateret af Winlink Moderator 12 år siden 0

First and foremost, winlink is a fantastic site - thanks for your efforts!

While experimenting with position reports, I found what appears to be a conversion error from DMS to Decimal in terms of plotting on the map.  Meaning, Google Maps shows the correct decimal value for the coordinates when hovering over the intended address.  However, the marker is placed at a decimal corrdinate that does not convert back to the DMS value in the dialog box.  Look at the decimal value at the bottom right of the frame - it's the value while hovering the cursor over the marker.  The conversion to decimal drom what is in the dialog in DMS should be close to the "Mil" in Milburn Drive above the dialog.  I've posted the DMS to Decimal conversion from the FCC site as a reference.

And if I have it all wrong, my apologies :)

Tony,

You'll need to provide more information --specific steps/url's/etc. before we will be able to understand the issue well enought to investigate.

Why have this feedback feature if it is no longer used. Look at the dates of the last postings and comn

Does anybody use this anymore? Seems like Yahoo groups is where the postings are done these days. Just curious as the dates on this feedback feature are old.
