I agree. Had a PC boot trouble just before vacation and needed using an old MAC with Webmail. Missed the date-time.

A workaround for a printable backup would be using AirMail.
Can be done either by Telnet, or by radio.
For Public Pactor:
Send to:inquiry
Subject:request
Textbody:pub_pactor
For Public Winmor: (same routine)
Send to:inquiry
Subject:request
Textbody:pub_winmor
Post and send the requests and finish the link.
Then Relink after some minutes, and you get the answers as fully readable, storable, text messages, from where you can Print, or cut and Paste for updating AirMail.
This workaround syntax does NOT work for me so far using RMS Express itself.
Here the automatic inbuilt system must be used.

Could this also avoid loss of mails due to some reported chrash in RMS Express' internal mail backup , then it would be a important safety net as well.

How is this attachement name issue going?
Picture uploads from a sailor this winter needed being done manually from someone at home after this person first got the winlink mail from the boat.

Still wondering about UTF8 in SUBJECT, Attachement names, AND IN THE TEXTREPORTING to APRS using Position reports.
I think it is WINDOWS 8859-1 being used.
Most web browser deal with the "guess work" , but not all applications. And many results in just ? for the EU letters.
UTF8 seems to be is the defacto standard now. (Outside US)

Another point of view is that IF INET IS PRESENT to RMS Express, the download of fresh station list perhaps should always be done PRIOR to calculating the OLD outdated list. The download is quick. It is the calculation which consumes time.
As it is now, the calculation always is done twice if purpose is updating the very list. Calculating propagation on the old outdated station list first is only a waste of time.
Other continents. Careful with WIN 8. It seems that .Net 3.5 needs being installed before national language installations are done.
I have wondered about the same Mike.
