Is Yaesu FT-991supported by RMS?
Been using both FT-817ND and FT-897D (now sold) with RMS Express. Now have FT-911 but not shown in the setup drop-down window! Is there support for this radio which my man at yaesu said was a replacement for the 897.

While I'm not a huge expert - and until WinMore Winlink adds support for the FT-991 (it certainly has all the capabilities) - here is a way I think should work - I do NOT have my general yet, so, I am only testing into a dummy load. I only wanted to put this out there as this seems to be one of the most common ones I found via google. I simply used the RT systems to create a Winlink profile, and non-winlink profile so its easy for me to change settings back.

How do I use VOX to PTT from the FT-991’s USB Audio codec?
Cause/Symptom:
How do I use VOX to PTT from the FT-991’s Internal sound card? My Digital mode software requires that I use VOX instead of a CAT command to PTT.
Solution:
Set the following menu settings on the FT-991 to enable VOX for Transmissions through the USB Soundcard that is integrated into the FT-991:
Menu 70 DATA IN SELECT=Rear
Menu 71 DATA PTT SELECT=DAKY
Menu 108 SSB MIC SELECT=Rear
Menu 110 SSB PTT SELECT=DAKY
Menu 111 SSB PORT SELECT=USB
Menu 114 CONTOUR LEVEL=Default
Menu 144 VOX SELECT=DATA
On my FT-991A the menu number was a bit different. So folks should double check for the proper menu item first. For example, the instructions above give "Menu 144" for VOX SELECT but on my 991A this was MENU 142. I am using firmware from Oct 16, 2017.
