Add RMS Support for Yaesu FT9000 series

I use a FT9000C on CFARS/MARS. Since there is no setting in RMS Express for Ft-9000, i have to use Airmail (it supports FT9k using a modified Kenwood instruction).  But Airmail doesnt yet support P4 and all my area EMOs use RMS so I'm in a  Catch-22.

My request is for RMS Express to support FT9000 radio please, so I can use it with my DR78700. Thank you.   VE7OVY

I have a FTDX-3000 and would also like to see support for the FTDX series.

I know this is a really old thread, but for anyone else searching for a solution I figured I'd report my findings.

I got it to work with a little patience.  Try configuring the radio setup to use a FT-891 for the radio selection and pick the com port on your computer that matches the ftdx3000 enhanced com port.  then for the ptt choose the FT-891 as well.  Also configure the audio to match the usb audo input and output to match the yaesu ftdx3000 settings on your computer. Only issues and this is really annoying is the frequency selection is hit or miss and many time the program will tell the rig to switch from usb data to something else or the wrong frequency.  So watch carefully when you hit the select button in winmor on your favorite node to make sure it selects it.  I had to flip back and forth between two favorites a couple of times until the dial freq on winmor matched the rig.  and as long as the rig is still in usb data, go a head and connect.   Its not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it will work, which will hopefully help as a last ditch effort in an emergency if you don't have one of the better supported rigs on the list.  Good luck   K9KQX

I am using a FTDX3000 witht the FT2000 selected in Radio Setup, with the appropriate sound card and com port settings, and everything runs as it should.

What setting are you using for CAT, Menu Item 037, RS232 or USB?

What baud rate?

Using FT2000 as my radio selection, I was finally able to have RMS Express set the frequency on my FTdx3000 when I made my Channel Selection, but no TX occurred until I selected FT-991/A as the PTT Port (optional).  Also selected USB as opposed to USB Digital under the Radio Setup.

I'm also using LDG's YT-1200 tuner that communicates with the radio via RS-232 while the Yaesu-supplied USB cable communicates between radio and Windows 10 PC.  So, a bit of a hassle because I have to select a Channel based on propagation data while in USB connect mode, switch to RS-232 mode (Menu 037), let the YT-1200 do its work, then switch Menu 037 back to USB mode to complete the Winmor communication.  A bit of a hassle, but it works.

I had some problems with T/R latency initially, but found that turning the Carrier down to 15W, cured that little problem, and communication was finally established and messages sent.

I just saw a few emails come through on my inbox thought I'd chime in on John's question.

on my ftdx-3000

Menu item 037 is set to USB

I'll have to try to see if the FT-2000 setting works better.

I am using Windows 7, my enhanced port is 8, regular is 7, I’m using a usb cable. I have tried putting my radio selection as previously stated in this thread and tried different combinations, every time I start RMS Express it says port 7 can’t connect and might be being used by something else. I have not been able to get my 3000 to transmit? Any ideas?
