RMS PACTOR Logs
There are a few things that are causing some confusion here. The Help file indicates an option to 'ARCHIVE OLD LOGS' and it works in conjunction with the 'Delete Files After' option. Help states this option can be set in the Site Properties window. The option isn't there. It seems the only place it can be set is in the .ini file. Setting the line to TRUE has not resulted in current files being archived.
The option for Deleting files after xx days is there, but what I set in that box is not retained in the event of a restart, auto-update, or even a peek at that window. Each time such an event occurs, the setting defaults to 7 days, and one must reset the # of days manually once more.
Also, in the help file, there are references to .log files / records. I don't see any such files in the Pactor folders. There are text files corresponding to log file names.
I have need of keeping files intact in the LOG folder for at least a month or more at a time. Presently it seems the only option is to manually transfer files to a secondary folder.
Can you provide some suggestions as to what I can do please? 73 Michael VA3LKI
On a D72 you can not enter k@ as a shortcut for k1.
APRSLink is great, thanks a lot!
"APRSLink is tailored to fit the needs of remote TH-D7 and TM D700/710 users, but is fully functional for other clients as well. To allow easy entry using the D7 or D700/710 keypads, you can use a keypad letter instead of a number for the second part of commands that require message line numbers. For example, to read message 3 you can send Rd instead of R3; use Rj for message 5, etc. Actually, any letter on the key will be interpreted as the number on that same key for any command that uses a number following the command character."
APRSLink Error at Email End After /EX
Via APRS, I am attempting to use Winlink's APRSLink to send a short email message. After entering several lines of destination, title, body text, and /EX, I get an error back. (The system always promptly Acked avter the prior lines.)
I am using the APRSdroid app on my Android phone to send the messages to WLNK-1 via the internet. Like I said, everything looks good until I end the message with /EX.
Does anyone have any ideas why this fails?
Thanks ... Reed (K7FLY)
Allow control+a to select all in an email - RMS Express
Control+a in almost all applications selects all. This key command does nothing when you want to select all of a message. When I reply to a message, I want to select all of the message to delete it to save air time.
Tab order in email - RMS Express
The tab order in a message is out of order and it does not follow a logical pattern for the most often used functions.
Tabbing like this would makebetter sense: to -> cc -> subject -> body -> from -> winlink message/P2P Message radio button -> Request Read Receipt
Currently it is ordered like this: to -> cc -> subject -> from -> winlink message/P2P Message radio button -> Request Read Receipt ->body
Need a date stamp on webmail message display
Several Winlink client programs have (or provide access to) extensive email management capabilities (Paclink, Airmail, RMS Packet for example). Additionally, Winlink messages can automatically be forwarded to standard internet email accounts if full email access features are required.
Printing not formatted (loss of line feeds) - RMS Express
When printing out of RMS express, carriage returns are stripped out of the message.
Example:
This is a first line of text.
This is the second line.
When printed the message looks like this:
This is a first line of text. This is the second line.
