The bounce message for non-whitelisted senders

n8gfo 14 years ago updated by Winlink Moderator 12 years ago 3
The bounce message for non-whitelisted senders tells them there is no valid recipient. This is confusing since the recipient is valid, it is the sender that is potentially invalid. As a user, if I get an "invalid recipient" response, I assume there is no such recipient and am unlikely to spend time going to a web site for help to find out about the //WL2K subject.

Could you change the error message to be something like "sender not in whitelist"? This is unlikely to have any effect on spammers who will see the 554 response code and ignore the text message, but will help the humans who are trying to get through. They are more likely to go look for help if they are told they are the problem instead of assuming that the email address they are sending to is bogus.

Thanks.

Add driver to RMS Express to support the Kantronics KAM (KAM-plus and KAM-series) for HF Pactor

Daniel Wolff, Jr. 13 years ago updated by LA7UM 13 years ago 1

This is an often requested addition.  Many Kantronics KAM owners would like to use RMS Express but it lacks the drivers to support HF pactor using the KAM (KAM-plus, and other KAM-series modems).  A driver to support HF pactor with the KAM is needed.

Love WINMOR, would like to see all PACTOR stations doing WINMOR as well

Newell Gillenwater 14 years ago updated by Winlink Moderator 13 years ago 6
I have been using WINMOR for some time now and love it as an alternative to PACTOR. Would love to see and hope that all PACTOR stations could eventually also handle WINMOR.

RMS Trimode is in in development, and alpha testing at the moment. This will allow one gateway station to support Pactor and WINMOR simultaneously, if so equipped.

SCS DR-7800 Ptc-4 Support in RMS Pactor and RMS Express

RMS Pactor now supports P4. It may only be used outside the USA due to symbol rate constraints in Part 97 of the FCC rules. P4 has the same bandwidth as P3.

Add support for BCC:

Jon Hacking 14 years ago updated by LA7UM 14 years ago 1
BCC is already in Airmail. This doesn't voilate Ham rules, as addresses are sent in clear over the air, just hidden over internet Cruisers want to send newsletters & such, but many folks don't like their eddresses in the clear on mass mailings as it leads to more spam.

Is Yaesu FT-991supported by RMS?

Steve Carey 9 years ago updated by John Spady 7 years ago 2

Been using both FT-817ND and FT-897D (now sold) with RMS Express. Now have FT-911 but not shown in the setup drop-down window! Is there support for this radio which my man at yaesu said was a replacement for the 897.

The frequency list format was changed and now it does not show the P3 frequencies in Airmail Terminal anymore. Please correct this ASAP.

When sending an email to the internet, MIME headers are not correct.

Jean-Marie Houle 12 years ago updated by LA7UM 12 years ago 3

For example, sending a small image, the MIME headers for the attachment are like those:

Content-Type: attachment; name="Blue hills.jpg"
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="Blue hills.jpg"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

They should be:

Content-type: image/jpeg; name="Blue hills.jpg"
Content-disposition: attachment; filename="Blue hills.jpg"
Content-transfer-encoding: base64

Note the line "Content-Type:"

Some mail clients (if not all) cannot handle this and cannot open the attachment. See:

http://winlink.userecho.com/topic/103334-rms-express-attachnments-do-not-open-in-thunderbird/

This is specially important to those trying to update their blog with some images.

Some more notes:

- Sending from WL2K to WL2K works OK
- Sending from the internet to WL2K works OK
- The problem shows with RMSE and Airmail and Paclink
- The headers are OK in the outgoing message within Airmail
- The headers are NOT OK in the outgoing message within RMSE
- The headers were OK before being sent to Paclink

Thanks for the good work.

Please feel free to contact me for more info.

autoupdate

Werner Furlan 13 years ago updated 13 years ago 3

With the last two autoupdates of RMS Pactor I experienced a crash of the program.

I am running a remote controlled RMS Pactor Server and cannot check the function of the program 24/7.

This is one major reason why I have some wishes to the WDT.

1. please notify the sysop in advance, when there is an update of the system planned. (by email - the sysop's email address is known to the WDT)

2. please provide a history file what has changed and what fixes and features have been addressed.

This should make it easier to check the correct function of the program and give better feedback to the WDT.

3. please make the autoupdate feature optional.

It should be activated by default, but there are circumcstances when the update should be delayed or supervised by the sysop, like in remote controlled stations.

thanks for listening and thanks for the work done.
