RMS PACTOR Logs

Michael K. hace 14 años actualizado por Winlink Moderator hace 14 años 7
I am trying to get a handle on the logging and preserving of logs in the current version of RMS Pactor - 2.1.0.0

There are a few things that are causing some confusion here. The Help file indicates an option to 'ARCHIVE OLD LOGS' and it works in conjunction with the 'Delete Files After' option. Help states this option can be set in the Site Properties window. The option isn't there. It seems the only place it can be set is in the .ini file. Setting the line to TRUE has not resulted in current files being archived.

The option for Deleting files after xx days is there, but what I set in that box is not retained in the event of a restart, auto-update, or even a peek at that window. Each time such an event occurs, the setting defaults to 7 days, and one must reset the # of days manually once more.

Also, in the help file, there are references to .log files / records. I don't see any such files in the Pactor folders. There are text files corresponding to log file names.

I have need of keeping files intact in the LOG folder for at least a month or more at a time. Presently it seems the only option is to manually transfer files to a secondary folder.

Can you provide some suggestions as to what I can do please? 73 Michael VA3LKI

No es un bug

On a D72 you can not enter k@ as a shortcut for k1.

Wnlk-1 says the message number is incorrect. No big deal but below it suggests that should be possible. Maybe list as caveat that '1' always needs to be explicit.

APRSLink is great, thanks a lot!

The help does not mention the use of "@" only letter keys:

"APRSLink is tailored to fit the needs of remote TH-D7 and TM D700/710 users, but is fully functional for other clients as well. To allow easy entry using the D7 or D700/710 keypads, you can use a keypad letter instead of a number for the second part of commands that require message line numbers. For example, to read message 3 you can send Rd instead of R3; use Rj for message 5, etc. Actually, any letter on the key will be interpreted as the number on that same key for any command that uses a number following the command character."

APRSLink Error at Email End After /EX

K7FLY hace 12 años actualizado por Dave Rugh (KK6DXE) hace 12 años 3

Via APRS, I am attempting to use Winlink's APRSLink to send a short email message.  After entering several lines of destination, title, body text, and /EX, I get an error back.  (The system always promptly Acked avter the prior lines.)

I am using the APRSdroid app on my Android phone to send the messages to WLNK-1 via the internet.  Like I said, everything looks good until I end the message with /EX.

Does anyone have any ideas why this fails?

Thanks ... Reed (K7FLY)

Allow control+a to select all in an email - RMS Express

LPS hace 11 años 0

Control+a in almost all applications selects all. This key command does nothing when you want to select all of a message. When I reply to a message, I want to select all of the message to delete it to save air time.

Tab order in email - RMS Express

LPS hace 11 años 0

The tab order in a message is out of order and it does not follow a logical pattern for the most often used functions.

Tabbing like this would makebetter sense: to -> cc -> subject -> body -> from -> winlink message/P2P Message radio button -> Request Read Receipt

Currently it is ordered like this: to -> cc -> subject -> from -> winlink message/P2P Message radio button -> Request Read Receipt ->body

Winlink WebMail is intentionally very limited in features. It is intended to provide access to basic email function -- "when access to normal Winlink email access systems are not available".

Several Winlink client programs have (or provide access to) extensive email management capabilities (Paclink, Airmail, RMS Packet for example). Additionally, Winlink messages can automatically be forwarded to standard internet email accounts if full email access features are required.

Printing not formatted (loss of line feeds) - RMS Express

LPS hace 11 años 0

When printing out of RMS express, carriage returns are stripped out of the message.

Example:

This is a first line of text.

This is the second line.

When printed the message looks like this:

This is a first line of text. This is the second line.

Print Settings

LPS hace 9 años 0
There is a lack of print settings available. Nowhere is there a setting for fonts to be use nor is there a way to adjust the margins. If you print on a small piece of paper the font size and margins are too large. We need a way to reduce font size and margins.

Long delays in loading Webmail sign-on block

K6JT_Steve hace 13 años actualizado por Winlink Moderator hace 13 años 0
Since the server moved, long delays (a minute or more) are occurring when trying to access Webmail.  This causes many web browsers to time out and stop trying, thus denying service.  Used to work very well on iPad web browsers.  Now times out.  Firefox seems to work most of the time, but Internet Explorer is hit-or-miss.  Also long time delays after signing on before mail appears (but this does not time out).
